OnePlus 2 Oxygen OS Gets VoLTE Support and Other New Offerings; Users Warned of Network Problems After Update
Nens MitchellOnePlus 2 has received a new software update which has introduced a lot of new features including the VoLTE support. However, many users warned that the update affected the transmission of signal of some units.
OxygenOS new update
The OxygenOS software v3.5.5 update brought VoLTE support for the OnePlus 2 handset. This technology, which means Voice over LTE, gives users the capability to still connect to a network even when making voice calls allowing them to multitask even when they are talking to another person over the phone.
Apart from this main highlight, the new update on the OnePlus 2 adds an App Lock, Gaming Mode, Battery Saving Mode and has improved the stability of the phone's system, among others. It also comes with fixes to the previous bugs experienced by users.
Other changes
Also, owners of the OnePlus 2 will also receive the OxygenOS UI which comes with an updated UI for the Calculator and the clock application. Users are also informed that the update will reset the device names, battery indication and even the ringtone of the OnePlus 2.
Network problems after download
Though this may seem as an exciting update, some users who have already downloaded the update have warned the others about major problems after updating their OnePlus 2 units. Many of those who bagged the update after announcement of its availability claimed that network signals frequently dropped.
This network issue was not only a problem in the United States but has also spread through some parts of India. It stopped the rest of OnePlus 2 owners from downloading the new update.
Possible solutions
Users have since found a way to trick to solve the problem by restarting the device. This worked for some but many still experienced the same problem and may need for a definite fix from OnePlus.
