Apple Explores More Options For iPhone Production, iOS Bug Issues, Battery Problems
Resma C Mara RevApple has been making rounds on more of its iPhone devices in the market. Aside from the plans about a key iPhone maker moving productions to the United States, Apple has been working on resolving issues that involve its devices.
According to a report from Nikkie Asian Review, Apple had asked both Foxcomm and Pegatron, two prominent iPhone assemblers, last June to look into making iPhones in the United States. It was reported that Foxcomm agreed, but Pegatron declined because of cost concerns. The current U.S. president, Donald Trump, has been very vocal about how companies should bring in more jobs for Americans and build their products in their own country.
Additionally, Apple has started to acknowledge the battery problem that has been largely reported by its users. There are signs that the 30 percent battery bug is affecting not just iPhone 6s devices.
According to Forbes, "Apple has still not fully fronted up to the situation. Its statement does nothing to specifically state the problems extend beyond the iPhone 6s (the only model it has named to date), when multiple sources in the thread above as well as social media and even a tweet from Apple executive and "father of the iPod" Tony Fadell have confirmed cases involving different models." This confirms that the 30 percent battery bug in iPhone devices extends to other iPhone models as well.
Furthermore, a few iPhone 8 potential problems, such as its complications with OLED screens and wireless charging, have been circulating in Apple discussions. The move for OLED screens in iPhone 8 have already been discussed, however, as reported by Forbes, there could be issues. One of Apple's biggest suppliers for display is Samsung, but it is also one of its biggest competitors. It is largely due to this reason that Apple started to widen its options and is starting to select other companies to build its iPhone displays such as LG Display, Japan Display and Sharp. This is in order to reduce its dependence on Samsung displays.
There are many different issues that are revolving around Apple devices and the company has tried to resolve most of these in new and upcoming models. The new updates are expected to improve the issues concerning performance, as well as the overall look of the devices.
