Tesla’s Gigafactory Exposed Its 4K Drone Footage; Releasing Half A Million Cars This 2018
Ralphy Bonn SimTesla's determined plan to produce more than 500,000 cars per year by 2018 is the company's Gigafactory, an absolutely gigantic factory that's still under construction in Sparks, Nevada. The main task of the Gigafactory will be making batteries at an impressive clip, and while construction will not be 100 percent complete for a few more years, the Gigafactory is already partially operational.
"Tesla Motors" was established in 2003 by a group of engineers in Silicon Valley who wanted to show that electric cars could be better than gasoline-powered cars. With imperative torque, excellent power and zero emissions, Tesla's work would be cars without compromise. Each new generation would be increasingly affordable, helping the company work approaching to its mission: to accelerate the world's transition to sustainable transport.
Tesla's engineers first invented a powertrain for a sports car built around an AC induction motor, utilized in 1888 by Nikola Tesla, the inventor who inspired the company's name.
Measuring in at 5.5 million square feet, the "Gigafactory" is an absolutely colossal structure. In fact, the building has the largest physical blueprint in the whole world. Naturally, building the Gigafactory itself is a hefty undertaking that will likely cost Tesla a huge $5 billion when it settles.
"By 2018, the Gigafactory will acquire full capacity and yeild more lithium ion batteries yearly than it were produced worldwide in 2013. Cells will be going through like bullets from a machine gun, In fact the exit amount of cells will be rapid than bullets from a machine gun," as claimed by Tesla CEO Elon Musk.
The "Gigafactory" will also produce battery packs intended for use in stationary storage, helping to develop robustness of the electrical grid, lessen energy costs for businesses and residences, and administer a backup supply of power.
Tesla is not just an automaker, but also a technology and design company with a focus on energy innovation.
