BitTorrent Live Now Available for iOS; P2P Technology Usage Still In Question

BitTorrent Live may have some good news for those that apparently wait for it to reach the iOS platform. Over six months of waiting since the May release seemingly has the fans fired up for the mobile device addition and what it could do.

BitTorrent Live has been made available on the other electronic platforms, namely the Fire TV, Apple TV and macOS. It was said that a delay halted the projection of the feature to come to the iOS back in June;but it is now finally a reality.

Recent reports by The Verge declared that the BitTorrent Live for the iOS may still come short of some channels, though the likes of One World Sports, France 24 and NASA are still on the list. The technology behind BitTorrent Live is what many find appealing, depending primarily on the sharing mechanism in file-sharing. There may be some limit, however, as to how far the particular technology can go.

It was said that there was once a blog for BitTorrent Live that claimed how the technology for the iOS version may have used peer-to-peer, but now that the blog was removed, skepticism has spread. BitTorrent Now is said to have no longer tolerated the use of the technology, and no official word has come out for the matter just yet. Nevertheless, the application is already available in the App Store.

BitTorrent Live treats viewers as broadcasters and permits a more diverse way of disseminating their streams. For now, many still hope that the new move for BitTorrent will be rather enticing to the masses that patronize the iOS product lines along the way. Other offerings of streaming content and channels are still to be named in the near future.
