LG Plans To Release Its Next Flagship Smartphone, The G6, Earlier Ahead Of Samsung
Cris Xander JulianoThe LG G5 was supposed to rejuvenate LG's smartphone division but unfortunately, it failed to do so. Subsequently, LG plans to jumpstart the year by releasing its next smartphone, the LG G6, a month earlier than its predecessor.
According to a report by androidauthority, LG might also be taking advantage of reports that Samsung is delaying the release of their Galaxy S8 while Apple is expected to take a break from sales during that period. This would give LG a small window of opportunity to release their flagship smartphone virtually without competition. This move by LG come to no surprise as it has been reporting losses for six straight quarters.
Right-timing is very crucial to a sales performance of a newly released smartphone that is why LG is racing against time to strike the market in the perfect moment to release the LG G6.
LG has reportedly started to approve parts and components of their G6 from its suppliers as they expect to start mass production in 30 days. LG believes that the LG G6 will be a successful smartphone because of its new features, like water resistance, wireless charging, mobile payments integration and an iris scanner much like the Samsung Note 7.
According to a report by phonearena, LG may announce the LG G6 in the upcoming Mobile World Congress (MWC) which is scheduled in late February 2017 in Barcelona Spain. The G6 might be released as early as March according to the same report.
