'Valkyria Revolution' Latest News: New Trailers Reveal The City Of Elsinore, LeGION Battle System; Developers Explain Why The Game Is Different
Arianne GiftThe Prologue Demo for "Valkyria Revolution" is now available in Japan for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita, so it is just fitting that Sega released two new trailers as a sneak peek into the game's fundamentals. The trailers show off the LeGION battle system and the city of Elsinore.
"Valkyria Revolution's" first video tackles the game's LeGION battle system and its battle flow. According to Siliconera, while the stop time feature in the Battle Palette menu gives clear advantage, considering its placement is also needed.
The second video shows the home base of Elsinore, which is every gamer's base of operations. Here, you can do everything to help you carry out your quest, such as purchasing equipment and materials. Additionally, you can also customize your character and interact with other players.
In other news, "Valkyria Revolution" somehow caused confusion among fans, as the game comes with a completely different gameplay. However, director Takeshi Ozawa and producer Youichi Shimosato promised the original series will continue, then explaining why they took a different path with "Revolution."
In an interview on the Japanese PlayStation Blog, both Ozawa and Shimosato agree that they were overcome with the desire to create new things as game creators. The creators didn't want to compromise the concept of the "Valkyria Chronicles" series, which is why they went on to create "Valkyria Revolution."
Another noticeable thing is the game's move to pure RPG mechanics, which, according to the creators, were pitched in during the planning phase. The developers wanted to incorporate elements that the original series were lacking, as well as for the new project to achieve variety.
