Amazon Holiday Deals: ‘Alexa’ Devices Sales Break All Previous Records! ‘Echo’ & ‘Echo Dot’ Awarded Best Selling Products Of The Year!
uBmuseAmazon still continues to be an e-commerce website however it has also rolled out a number of tech gadgets. While some of the products did not perform that well in the market, several others have gone completely viral. The Alexa Devices, which include Amazon Echo and Echo Dot, have shattered all previous sales records this year under Amazon Holiday Deals.
The tech giant stated in a recent press release that this year has brought great news for the company with Amazon Echo and Echo Dot becoming the best selling products under Amazon Holiday Deals 2016. Probably this is a reason to celebrate for Amazon as its own AI Assistant Alexa has started to take on the whole market single-handedly. As compared to the holiday season last year, the sales chart for Alexa Devices went up nine times.
Jeff Wilke, the CEO worldwide consumer for Amazon, stated in the press release that while the sales are of great importance to the company, they're also thrilled that more than a million customers will get the benefits of Alexa. The demands are so high that it's become pretty difficult for Amazon to keep stock of Echo and Echo Dot Devices.
The Alexa devices can play music, search the internet, control Christmas lights and the technology is getting more advanced each day. Device sales have gone up exponentially, while the third-party developers have built more than a thousand new skills for Alexa in the last several months. Amazon has tied up the smart speakers with its online retailer site so that more money gets pumped into the company's business core.
Other devices, including Fire TV Stick and Fire Tablet, also witnessed a huge leap in sales records. The company shipped more than a billion items globally this year. Amazon officials stated that the largest number of Amazon Prime deliveries took place on December 23 this year. The Amazon Echo, Amazon Echo Dot, and Fire TV Stick were the most popular items ordered under Amazon Holiday deals.
However, the recent incident regarding a police search warrant for an Arkansas man's Echo recordings is also a reminder that not everything is sunshine and rainbows. There are still a number of privacy concerns related to the Alexa Devices. Probably this is the reason why most users only use the Amazon Echo and Amazon Echo Dot only for basic tasks.
