Lenovo Reduces Fire Hazard Thanks To A Protection Circuit In New ThinkPad Laptops; CES 2017 Will Feature Lenovo's ThinkPad Yoga 370
Ceage SottoThe year 2016 has seen its share of explosive gadgets that undermined the quality of many devices. With the likes of Samsung's Note 7 and some Chromebooks setting things ablaze, Lenovo aims to prevent their gadgets from catching fire.
Lenovo's ThinkPad line will have a new protection circuit to guard incorrect power levels. Although the new circuit is not designed to totally stop Lenovo's high-end laptops from short circuits, the new feature will drastically drop the chances of these devices from catching fire.
According to the Inquirer, Benson Leung noted that some USB-C cables have subpar quality. That is why some of 2016's USB-C devices were prone to overheating, conversely making them a major fire hazard. The Google engineer also noted these cables would cause damage when overcharged or undercharged.
In other news, Lenovo's ThinkPad Laptops and Yoga tablets will have a special mashup with the new ThinkPad Yoga 370. The new hybrid laptop from Lenovo will star at the upcoming CES 2017. It will feature high-end specs for a device that switches from a tablet to a functional laptop computer.
In a post by PCWorld, the new device weighs 1.37 kilograms and will have Kaby chipsets. The crossover laptop can store a lot of data with its 1TB SSD storage. The ThinkPad Yoga 370 can also have faster loading speeds with a 16GB DDR4 RAM.
Unlike Apple's latest MacBook Pro that has omitted its USB ports, Lenovo's new hybrid laptop will feature two USB 3.0 ports. The ThinkPad Yoga 370 will also feature the Thunderbolt 3, plus a MicroSD slot coupled with an HDMI port.
Lenovo's sales pitch for the ThinkPad Yoga 370 will be the ability to rotate the screen at 360 degrees. It automatically switches to tablet mode whenever you turn the laptop's screen around. Lenovo will have its hands full for the upcoming CES 2017 on January 5.
