HTC Will Launch Wireless Vive 2 In January CES Event
Hemal VoraHTC Vive has been in the scheme of virtual reality gaming, but its sales figure indicate otherwise. Come 2017 and HTC will change that by launching a wireless VR headset HTC Vive 2.
HTC plans to launch the second generation VIVE VR at CES
Reports from a Taiwanese media suggest that HTC is planning to launch it's HTC Vive second-generation VR gear at the CES event in January. The second generation Virtual Reality Gear is expected to come with a higher resolution VR solution. It will offer a significantly faster refresh rate than the previous HTC Vive. It is also expected to sport a wireless transmitter, as reported by Trusted Reviews.
Problem with the Current HTC Vive
The biggest problem with the HTC Vive first generation was the use of all the USB, HDMI, and power cables, when they first tried it at the MWC 2016. Hence going wireless will make a big leap forward for HTC Vive, as it is a PC-powered VR. Reports say that nothing breaks the experience of VR immersion as it does when the users get tangled under a load of wires and get tipped over, as reported by Techspot.
Expected Specs In the Upcoming HTC VIVE VR
The Taiwanese report also suggests that the upcoming second generation HTC Vive will undergo a display upgrade. The current HTC Vive VR already offers sharp and smooth graphics with 2160 x 1200 resolution and 90Hz dual screens. The HTC Vive, second generation VR, is going to come with upgraded visuals for the twin 4K displays offering increased 120Hz refresh rates.
However, the hardware requirements of the upcoming VR are yet to be revealed. The VR applications will require about 10 - 25 percent of additional power when compared to its usual monitors.
