4Gamer traditionally interviews famous game personalities at end of each year. It was first translated by DualShockers and is making its rounds on the world wide web.
In the interview, Sakaguchi also revealed a new technology partnership for the new game. Famous game developer Silicon Studio will take part in an upcoming game project with Sakaguchi's Mistwalker corporation.
Sakaguchi has not mentioned anything specific about the partnership, but we will be hearing more in the following months. Accordingly, there is still no official statement on which game Silicon Studio will be collaborating with. With the success of "Final Fantasy 15," and the hype surrounding the "Final Fantasy 7" remake, the new "Final Fantasy" game will be another hit.
Hironobu Sakaguchi has always been vague on his upcoming projects, but the revelation proves that 2017 will be a big year for the gaming industry. Moreover, tech companies have been working on their respective consoles for the next year. Microsoft has been working on a new console called the Xbox Scorpio and Nintendo is polishing the hybrid Nintendo Switch.
So far the president of Mistwalker is busy working on a console version for the successful mobile JRPG "Terra Battle." Aside from revealing an announcement for the new "Final Fantasy" game next year, Sakaguchi has been silent on the game's details.
In other news, "Final Fantasy 15" is officially the fastest selling "Final Fantasy" franchise in Square Enix's history. In a post by GameSpot, Square Enix has revealed that they have sold at least 5 million copies for the PS4 during its worldwide launch. The numbers may somewhat be misleading as previous titles did not launch simultaneously worldwide.

In retrospect, the series introduced one of the most memorable RPG in Sony's PS1 console. "Final Fantasy 7" was Square Enix's first worldwide hit.
