'Fairy Tail: Dragon Cry' Latest News: Anime Movie Launched Website; Premiere Set For Spring 2017
Keisuke AkioGAGA, a Japanese film distributor recently revealed that the previously announced that the second anime film "FairyTail" manga is entitled "FairyTail: Dragon Cry." The company has also launched a website for the upcoming film revealing the film's release date in Japan this spring 2017.
The acclaimed anime debuted in 2009 and swiftly became one of Japan's most distinguishable franchises, with all credits to Natsu and the "FairyTail" guild. Unlike other successful animes, "FairyTail" has been slow to release feature films. Early kicking off this year, the distribution studio GAGA had just given fans a big update about the project. On the studio's official website, a page was just launched confirming the title of "Fairy Tail's" second movie.
Hiro Mashima recently confirmed on Twitter the Theater Edition "FairyTail" with the subtitle Dragon Cry. GAGA released the first title image for the film, an official Twitter account and a website so anime fans could keep up with the film's details as the year moves along.
It has been awhile since news about the "FairyTail" has been released. In May 2015, Kodansha's Weekly Shonen Magazine confirmed that the second movie was coming. The anime's first film, "FairyTail the Movie: Phoenix Princess," was in Japanese theaters in August 2012. In July 2016, Mashima revealed in that he is directly working on a new anime project but with no more details as to its specifics.
"FairyTail" is an action-fantasy, manga series written and illustrated by Hiro Mashima. It is his second major publication, subsequent to RAVE. The "FairyTail" series has been published in Kodansha's Weekly Shonen Magazine since 2006 and produced 48 total episodes. A-1 Pictures produced an anime adaptation of "FairyTail" which started airing in 2009 and ended in March 2013, reports Otakutale.
"FairyTail" is a story about a guild of young, powerful wizards who call their guild as "FairyTail" family. It is set in an imaginary Earth where a boy named Natsu teams up with an unlikely friend, Lucy Heartfilia, as the latter hopes of becoming a potent wizard.
