OnePlus 2 Users Start Receiving OxygenOS 3.5.6 Hotfix Update For Oxygen OS 3.5.5’s Network Drop Issue [VIDEO]
Portia Mae M. CansancioThe OnePlus 2 was recently updated to OxygenOS 3.5.5 which was a great update; however, it introduced a network drop issue among its users. This has been quickly fixed with OnePlus releasing a patch with OxygenOS 3.5.6.
As soon as OnePlus 2 users updated their smartphones with the OxygenOS 3.5.5, their networks started to drop continually, and they have claimed that it was due to the software update. According to them, using Wi-Fi on the device was performing well but the issue started when they used mobile data. It was then pulled back by OnePlus as many users started complaining about it. Major complaints were coming from owners in India specifically from Reliance Jio or Airtel networks, according to Gadgets NDTV.
Per Phone Arena, though OxygenOS 3.5.6 doesn't update the OnePlus 2 to Android Nougat, as it is still based on Marshmallow --- it has a different purpose after all. The Oxygen OS 3.5.6 Hotfix update was purposely to fix the predecessor's problem --- the significant network drops and connectivity issues. Other than that, there aren't any new improvements or features included in the said update.
Recently, OnePlus 2 users have started receiving the OxygenOS 3.5.6 via over-the-air. The roll out is incremental and might deploy on other users' devices if no bugs are discovered. It is recommended that OnePlus 2 users should have a strong Wi-Fi connection and have enough battery on their smartphones to have a successful update.
The company has also started rolling out Android 7.0 Nougat update for OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T users around the globe. The Android 7.0 Nougat-based OxygenOS 4.0 update will be reaching all users in the following days since it is being pushed out over-the-air. It is the same incremental rollout that comes in batches. Open Beta 1 has been released for OnePlus 3T users as per OnePlus' announcement. On a side note, check the video to know more about OnePlus 2.
