"Overwatch" fans may have had a great time over the holidays. Loot boxes were abundant during the Christmas season as the game introduced a Winter Wonderland event.

Apparently, those who are participating in the seasonal arcade mode were able to acquire a box every three wins. This could go on for nine wins and then it would reset within a specific time. Apart from getting loot boxes when a player levels up, these rewards are a great way to get freebies on the game.

Loot boxes offer a variety of freebies for a player. As an "Overwatch" player will know, one can get some cool stuff which is mostly for aesthetics. For example, there are skins, sprays, voice lines and even new victory poses for a character. For Winter Wonderland boxes, there are festive costumes to commemorate the season as noted by MMO Examiner.

Of course, in-game purchases for loot boxes are also available. This gives a player the chance to acquire a box even though they have not won games or leveled up. But sure enough, real money is needed.

Nonetheless, players can acquire a good list of items from these boxes. Items are categorized by their rarity. Colors are used to identify how rare these are. For "Overwatch," white and green represents common items, blue and teal for rare and pink and purple for epic. However, orange and gold ones are the most sought after. These represent legendary items that are extremely hard to come by.

But according to a Reddit user called BubbleNine, a player was able to get a really lucky loot box. When it was opened, it included three legendary items and an epic one. Among the items were seasonal ones for Mei and Torbjorn.

The Winter Wonderland event has ended and the chances of getting the seasonal items may have gone. However, it won't likely be the last event for "Overwatch."
