CES 2017: Dell Revamps Alienware, Inspiron 15 7000 Gaming Laptop Specs; Alienware 13 Is VR-Ready; Check Details Inside
Keisha WallaceDell unveiled three new Alienware laptops in addition to an updated Inspiron 15 7000 model at CES 2017 held in Las Vegas. Named based on their screen sizes, Dell Alienware 13, 15 and 17 are packed with powerhouse specs intended to deliver a high-performance gaming experience. Dell Inspiron 15 7000, on the other hand, is a cheaper alternative but it also equips quality gaming features.
All Alienware gaming laptops announced by the Texas-based company at CES 2017 are powered with the new seventh generation Intel Kaby Lake core processor. The laptops are actually patterned from its Skylake processor design released back in August. However, with the introduction of Kaby Lake, the upgraded system is expected to be faster than the earlier Alienware models for up to seven to nine percent, Venture Beat reported.
Apart from its modern processor, the lineup also sports high-end Nvidia GeForce graphic chips. One model called the Alienware 13 is said to be the first 13.3-inch notebook that could support virtual reality, Fortune reported. It is the cheapest among the new models from the lineup with a price point of $999.
Alienware 15 and 17 are also built to meet the demands of modern gaming with its advanced graphic chips, added SSD technology and upgradability. Users can opt for the 99 watt-hour battery for additional hours of gaming. Alienware 15 is priced at $1,199 while Alienware 17 is available for $1,299.
Meanwhile, to those who are tight on budget, Dell Inspiron 15 7000 is a price-friendly option, which delivers great gaming experience with a price tag that starts from $799. It comes with the Nvidia GTX 1060 and sports a 15.6-inch screen with an option for 4K resolution. It is also powered by an Intel Core i7 processor similar to the Alienware models.
