Android 7.0 Nougat hits the road initially for Nexus phones but will eventually invade other smartphones. Expect refinements over earlier versions as this version sports both visible and subtle changes in the whole smartphone experience. Let us take a journey, therefore, towards this newest smartphone OS.

Foremost among changes that Android 7.0 Nougat offers is the ability to use two apps through split-screen display. Samsung phone users will easily relate to this experience being able to use such feature long before the new Android version. Now, Android 7.0 Nougat is at par with the ability to use multi-window by simply long-pressing the recent apps button.

Given that Android 7.0 Nougat is trying to maximize this new split-screen feature, another change is the ability to use two Chrome tabs at the same time. Yes, Android 7.0 Nougat is acting similar to Safari browser on Apple iOS users. Just press the menu button while Chrome is open and you can move between other tabs.

Needing to copy certain text to another tab while on split-screen? This Android version features the ability to simply drag and drop highlighted texts between tabs. Apart from texts, pictures and other supported format can also do this drag and drop wonder, Android Authority said.

Another similar to iOS feature that Android 7.0 Nougat sports is being able to use different wallpapers on home screen and lock screen. Select an image to serve as wallpaper but the update will now prompt if you want it on either of the two.

Notifications on previous Android could be nuisance especially those tons of Facebook alerts occupying the whole display. On the contrary, Android 7.0 Nougat will feature bundled notification, collecting similar notifications into one nifty alert.

Speaking of notifications, Android 7.0 Nougat can reply to messaging apps lie Facebook or Hangouts, even Twitter directly from the notification. The coolest part of this feature is the ability to hold multiple conversations without the need to scroll on app menu and opening them one by one.
