'No Man's Sky' Update: Hello Games Celebrates Major Sales; Rival 'Astroneer' Is Not Far Behind
Cores Grace MalaayHello Games' "No Man's Sky" was a victory in terms of major sales on Steam in 2016 where it is close to the top in Valve's top 100 best-selling games in that year. This comes after the post-launch controversy where the developer was investigated but cleared by the Advertising Standards Authority.
However, notwithstanding the game's solid sales, there is a new challenger that Hello Games should be concerned of - "Astroneer," which debuted as an early access on Steam and Xbox One, reports Express. The game has been receiving positive reviews with nearly 9,000 reviews on board in a Very Positive overall score.
"No Man's Sky" didn't turn up the least though as it benefits from a review boost in the face of multiple updates that Hello Games has been releasing. Its reviews on PC have also improved after the developer released the Foundation update.
The game received mixed reviews on Steam in the last 30 days, which is way better than the overwhelming negative reviews it earned in the previous weeks. Regrettably for the developer, the overall reviews for "No Man's Sky" stays negative mostly, though more players are playing it already from 774 in October 2016 to 2,283 players in the last 30 days.
Should Hello Games fulfills its promise to keep updating "No Man's Sky" on PC and PlayStation 4, there's no wonder that the number of users playing the title should continue to rise. According to PC Gamer, the game's latest Foundation update delivers a fairly solid base-building feature that gets players engaged with it.
As for "No Man's Sky's" rival, "Astroneer" features online co-op for up to four players, which developer System Era says it's something that it's definitely committed to. The game's player assumes the role of a near-future prospector who needs to travel to planets looking for adventure and fortune. The first playable build of the game can be downloaded via Xbox Game Preview for Windows 10 and Xbox One.
