The Las Vegas 2017 CES was kick started with a showcase of new smartphones, laptops, VR headsets and other impressive new tech and gadgets. The annual Las Vegas CES is off to a great start as innovative tech and gadgets from both popular brands and startups have taken the center stage.

First on the list of new tech and gadget introduced on the first day of the annual Las Vegas CES is the Honor 6X Android phone. The new Android phone from Honor is a decent opening act for the smartphones that are slated to be introduced at the CES 2017 Las Vegas.

The cheap price tag of the Honor 6X ($249) may be a great starting point to attract consumers but the new Android phone actually gives users more than what they pay for. The Honor 6X is powered by an octacore Huawei Kirin 655 processor, 3gb RAM and comes with 32gb of storage.

An intriguing new VR software that allows user to bring any first person game into virtual reality was introduced by Lenovo on the first day of the 2017 Las Vegas CES. The new VR software from Lenovo maps out the movement of the user's head and links it to the aim/look controls of a video game.

Another piece of impressive new tech that was introduced by Lenovo on the first day of Las Vegas CES 2017 is its new Lenovo Smart Assistant. Though Lenovo's Echo is similar to what Amazon has as they are running the same software, the Lenovo Smart Assistant comes at a cheaper price.

The battle of processors was also intensified on the first day of Las Vegas CES 2017. Qualcomm released its new Snapdragon 835 while Intel unveiled its 7th generation of Intel Core processor.

New laptops also took center stage at the first CES 2017 Las Vegas event. Lenovo introduced its new ThinkPad X1 while Dell announced the highly anticipated XPS 13 convertible. Acer and ASUS both unveiled their new Chromebooks in their respective press events of CES 2017.
