The Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 Will Be Powering ODG's R-8 And R-9 Smart glasses

Leading mobile processor company, Qualcomm, has just unveiled its newest top of the line mobile processor, the Snapdragon 835. The new mobile chipset Qualcomm Snapdragon 835, is said to host a number of new gadgets and tech which includes virtual reality and augmented reality.

The Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 is powered by the company's newest processing component, the Kyro 289 CPU. The four performance core of the Kyro 289 CPU is clocked at 2.45ghz. Qualcomm's Snapdragon 835 will also feature a Hexagon 682 digital processor.

The engine that runs the Snapdragon 895 is capable of supporting AI-centric applications. The Snapdragon 835 will also be featuring the new graphics processing unit (GPU) from Qualcomm, the Adreno 540 GPU. The new GPU will be complimented by Spectra 180 image sensor processor to provide users with next gen camera and graphics.

One of the newest key features of the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 is its improved 3d graphics performance which is said to be 25% better than the old chipsets. The new Snapdragon 835 chipset will also have support for virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR).

With the increased power of the Snapdragon 835, Qualcomm has now set its eyes in the VR and AR market. Qualcomm with Osterhout Design Group (ODG), a company popular for its VR and AR glasses, has unveiled R-8 and R-9 VR/AR headsets

Though the new AR/VR glasses from ODG and Qualcomm may lack the pleasing aesthetic features of the more popular AR and VR headgears today, what the glasses lack in physique it certainly makes up with its power and function.

The R-8 smart glasses allow users to access movies, books, news articles, sports and gaming on their R-8 smart glass. The R-9 is the higher end version of the R-8 as it makes use of 50-degree field of view compared to R-8's 40.
