"Killer Instinct" introduced another character in its roster -- one with a notable back story. More than that, other characters are also bound to get their own changes and improvements, prior to a tournament that will test the players' hard-earned skills.

Game developer Iron Galaxy has been generous enough to add a new character named Kilgore. As the Xbox One and PC title continues on with a great following, fans ought to know the tale behind the massive metal man and why he may be on a mission.

According to the backstory from Ultra Combo, Ultratech manufactured an array of robotic entities before they created Fulgore, although some flaws have been detected and can cause the cyborgs to overheat. These bots are considered unfit for their duties, but one in particular chose to revert its untimely demise -- Kilgore. The creature became self-aware and rewrote its programming, making it more than capable of fighting on its own.

One other addition to "Killer Instinct" is the return of the Ultimates, which can be recalled as being in the original game. It has also been confirmed by Iron Galaxy. A tweet announced that the "Killer Instinct" World Cup is bound to arrive in a few months, starting with the qualifiers on April with the Ultra & Killer passes immediately running out.

More than that, Xbox Live Gold members will find it convenient that "Killer Instinct" Season 2 Ultra Edition will be made free as part of the Microsoft Games with Gold subscription service. It will run from January 16 all the way to February 15 for the Xbox One, IGN reports.

Kilgore is confirmed for both Xbox One and PC platforms for only $10. So far, no other patch notes have officially been laid out for the title.
