Samsung Announced Its Two Latest Chromebooks, The Pro and The Plus

Samsung has announced their two latest Chromebooks at the Consumer Electronics Show 2017 in Las Vegas, the Chromebook Pro and the Chromebook Plus, according to a report by GSM Arena.

Both devices have many similarities; both have an all metal design, both will sport a 12.3-inch LED display with 2400x1600 resolution and Gorilla Glass 3 layered fro protection, they have a 4GB LPDDR3 RAM, they have a 32GB hard drive and both have a pre-installed AirDroid premium and ArtCanvas which will have a designated place for the stylus.

According to a report by XDA Developers, both devices will sport a laptop from factor but can also be converted to a tablet. Both have a 360-degree hinge that allows the devices to be flipped and used as a tablet. The Pro and the Plus will support 4K video output through either of the two USB Type C ports.

The difference between the two devices is its CPU. The processor for the Chromebook Plus is hexa-core OP1 made specifically for Chromebooks; while an Intel Core m3 (4MB cache) is built in the Chromebook Pro. Both devices have Google Play pre-installed.

Samsung focused on flexibility for the devices. You can use both devices as laptops for a conventional Chrome OS functionality, or flip the screen and use its touchscreen capabilities; it now converts your device into a tablet. Additionally, a built-in stylus is embedded on the side for storage and easy access as you can use it for note taking or drawing capabilities.

The Chromebook Plus will be available in the U.S. for $449 in February 2017. The Chromebook Pro on the other hand, will be available during the Spring of 2017.
