Nvidia’s First G-Sync HDR Monitors Offer The Ultimate Gaming Experience [VIDEO]
Pia MerciG-SYNC HDR has been announced yesterday though it wasn't part of the NVIDIA's CES 2017 keynote --- it is the existing G-SYNC monitor technology's evolution with the integration of High Dynamic Range.
As per NVIDIA, for these G-SYNC HDR displays to deliver the ultimate gaming experience, it was then created in partnership with AU Optronics --- to create the first 144Hz 4K gaming screen.
These monitors were designed from the get-go for a near-zero input latency, unlike those of HDR TVs. The Acer Predator XB272-HDR and Asus ROG Swift PG27UQ are the first two G-SYNC HDR monitors unveiled at CES 2017. Both will be ready for purchase by the second quarter of 2017, as per the press release.
The G-SYNC HDR panels offer 1,000 nits of brightness, with 384 backlight zones that can be controlled individually which synchronizes the brightest colors and inky blacks sitting side-by-side. These monitors support the HDR-10 standard, alongside a DCI-P3 cinema grade color gamut with the integration of a Quantum Dot Enhancement Film, according to PCWorld.
G-SYNC HDR monitors are certified by NVIDIA and are fully integrated into GeForce Platform for the best end-to-end gaming experience which also known for its technology for tear-free, smooth, and responsive gameplay. In addition, it is unrivaled with is vivid intensity, contrast, and color of its image quality.
Only a few PC games support HDR as of the moment. The first one was the "Shadow Warrior 2" and the next to follow is "Mass Effect: Andromeda". As HDR monitors are finally about to hit the market, developers are anticipated to accelerate their support too.
G-Sync HDR is a product that manufacturers will work with NVIDIA to integrate into PC displays. The starting retail price for the PG27UQ as per Asus is at $1199; however, there is still no announcements regarding Acer Predator display's price.
