Instagram Now Allows iPhone Users To Upload Live Photos Via Boomerang
Cris Xander JulianoInstagram started rolling out a new functionality where iPhone users can now upload Live Photos by turning them first into a Boomerang, Instagram's own GIF format, according to a report by Slash Gear. The Instagram app just needs to be at version 10.3 to be able to use this new feature.
This is how you upload your Live Photos; from your Instagram, swipe up to show the upload pane, then choose one of your Live Photos, while on preview, use the 3D Touch on the image, this will enable you to convert your photos to a Boomerang. Now, you can upload it to your Instagram Story. It may not be the easiest way to upload Live Photos but it is an improvement, considering there was no way to do it before.
According to a report by 9TO5mac, Instagram is also rolling out an update for iOS devices particularly for the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 plus to support its sharper cameras. iPhone users can now share photos in vivid colors, mainly because of the update that supports wide color capture and display in Instagram. The difference is very subtle but you can compare the photos that have been taken before the update.
These new features in Instagram are slowly rolling out to iOS users. Mike Krieger, co-founder of Instagram, stated that most users should have these features by now as there is no update required via the App store because it is an upgrade from the server-side of Instagram.
It would be hard to tell if you have this feature or not since you don't need to update the app, unless you try it yourself.
