iPhone 7 Plus News: New Ad Stars 'Portrait' Mode for Two-Camera Phone
Bee BOn January 7, Apple unleashed a new ad that starred the iPhone 7 Plus "Portrait" mode. The 1-minute-long commercial ad highlights the two-lens flagship's camera mode that allows users to create versatile and impressive images.
The commercial ad titled "Take Mine" tells the tale of a young lady who goes back to her hometown in a small village in Greece. She brings her iPhone 7 Plus in the rose gold variant and snaps a picture of her grandmother. The old woman is largely impressed with the photo she takes and gets the attention of everyone in the room.
Later on, other people in town that the young lady encounters asks her to take a photo of them with her iPhone 7 Plus. The images the lady takes are of highest quality and according to the ad, what happens in "Portrait" mode is "practically magic."
The said iPhone 7 Plus camera mode allows users to edit images to their desired results. For example, a user can choose to un-focus other objects in a photo where there is a subject. A custom blur feature will be used for this action. According to Apple Insider, the result is a creamy but still natural image that shows how the device has the power to sharpen specific layers.
Tech Crunch says the iPhone 7 Plus added the "Portrait" mode at a later date compared to its other features that came with its release. It was rolled out with the iOS 10.1 in October as a beta after it was first announced in September.
It is worth noting that the "Portrait" mode is only available for iPhone 7 Plus users. The reason behind is due to the device's two powerful cameras that are able to detect up to 9 depth levels. The device is up for sale on Apple's official website. Consumers can choose to purchase the smartphone in full or in monthly installments.
