Samsung Chromebook Pro VS Ipad Pro: Price, Technical Specs, Apple Pencil vs Stylus Pen
Keisuke AkioAfter several months of delay, finally, Samsung unveiled its latest Chromebook model at the CES 2017. With specs and features already released, let us see how Samsung Chromebook Pro fares against Apple's Ipad Pro.
The latest Samsung Chromebooks are hybrid-computing devices that can function both as a laptop and as a tablet. With Chromebooks' stylus support and ability to switch between different modes, they can be easily compared with Microsoft's Surface Pro 4 and Apple's iPad Pro.
Build & Weight
The Samsung Chromebook Pro is fashioned with an all-metal chassis and weighs 2.5 pounds. The iPad Pro with Keyboard is closer to 2.3lbs.
Resolution & Display
Samsung Chromebook Pro has a 12.3-inch display made of Gorilla Glass 3 and has a 2,400 x 1,600 resolution. The iPad Pro has a 12.9-inch Retina display and a 2,732 x 2,048 resolution. Samsung Chromebook Pro's display renders colors with intense richness without being overly saturated. The iPad Pro's screen is also anti-reflective and fingerprint-resistant. Chromebook Pro has a PPI of 234 while the iPad Pro has 264. Technically, they are similar.
Processor
Samsung Chromebook Pro uses an Intel Core m3-6Y30 processor (0.90 GHz up to 2.20 GHz) chip. Its processor is especially made for 2-in-1 devices and laptops. It backs mobile work and play without compromising visuals. On the other hand, the iPad Pro runs on a 64-bit A9X 2.26 GHz dual core processor. The A9X behind the iPad Pro is the most powerful mobile chip Apple has ever created, and the company is proud that it can outspeed 80 percent of portable PCs released in the past year.
Memory & Storage
Samsung's Chromebook offers 4 GB of RAM and 32 GB of internal storage. The iPad Pro offers the same memory, but you have the option to choose among 32 GB, 128 GB, and 256 GB models.
Added Features

The Google Play Store app is in beta, but soon we will get to see how Android apps work on Chrome OS. The Samsung Chromebook Pro interface leans extremely close to a full desktop experience. You can minimize windows and split-screen multitask without a problem. iPad Pro, on the other hand, has Pages, Numbers, Keynote, iMovie, GarageBand, and iTunes U preinstalled on models with a 32GB capacity or higher.
