Scalebound: Platinum Games Apologizes For The Game Cancellation
Gloven Ramos"Scalebound" is one of the most anticipated games to be released this year. Unfortunately, Microsoft announced on Jan. 9, 2017 that the production has been stopped and confirmed the game's cancellation.
The "Scalebound" game was supposed to be exclusively for Windows 10 and Xbox One. But apparently, the development encountered some technical problems.
Platinum Games now issued an apology to the public. In their official blog, they posted the public message and expressed their disappointment on the issue.
"We are sorry to say that the publisher, Microsoft Studio, announced the cancellation of "Scalebound" game. We are very disappointed that things ended up this way, especially since we know our fans were excited and looking forward to this game," Platinum Games CEO, Kenichi Sato said.
The developer Platinum Games and publisher Microsoft are both silent about the main reason of "Scalebound" game cancellation. However, Xbox head Phil Spencer talks about the issue.
Spencer said it is a difficult decision to cancel the "Scalebound" game, but it is better for Xbox gamers. In the Game Spot report, they cited Phil Spencer apologizes for cancelling the project, he said it hurt him as well and he apologized to the gaming community. He wants everything they start to turn out great, to create diversity, and to take risks.
When Spencer asked if it is simply a matter of putting more budget into the "Scalebound" game's development to be finished, he said it is not that simple. "There is not a pour in money and get a project. It is much more organic and iterative than that," he added.
Platinum promised that they will strive to continue delivering high-quality games for their fans. Some of the upcoming developer's games are "NieR: Automata, "Granblue Fantasy Re:Link," and the "Lost Order."
