iPhone 8 Already A Problem For Apple Competitors; Killer Features Are Intimidating
JulianneOver the years, Apple remains to be the top trend setter for all smartphones in the market. The upcoming iPhone 8 will be sporting new and exciting features like the OLED screen. Recently, there have been reports that the Cupertino-based company will be bulking up on OLED supply this year.
According to BGR, Apple's China-based competitors are worried that the Cupertino Company may consume most of the OLED supply, since Apple is planning to release the new iPhone 8 with an OLED display screen.
Apple has rushed to secure production capacity for small and mid-sized OLED panels. Other than that, there are rumors that Samsung may be the primary OLED supplier for Apple this year. However, the publication also reports that the Korean-based company won't be able to meet with Apple's huge demand.
The publication further reports that other key components might face shortage as well. Aside from displays, Apple is lacking memory products and optical devices. Apple is planning to release three iPhones this year with the new iPhone 8, featuring a OLED screen and two new iPhone 7 flagships with LCD displays.
Meanwhile, other specs for the iPhone 8 include a capacitive Home button and a Touch ID that is integrated into the display. The Apple device will also let consumers use different gestures with the use of a touch-sensitive panel at the bottom of the screen, WCCFTech reports.
The upcoming Apple handheld is imagined to be very thin, only measuring at just 6.9mm. A smart connector and wireless charging will also be one of the features for the variant.
The news outlet further reports that the iPhone 8's body will be made in a light material known as Zirconia Ceramic. The said material is extremely durable, lightweight and allows electronic waves to pass through easily.
The Zirconia Ceramic will also be better in making wireless connections and is also heat resistant for iPhone 8. However, nothing is confirmed yet and fans should take everything with a grain of salt.
