Microsoft has just revealed the addition of Simplygon, a Sweden-based company that is focused on developing automatic 3D data-optimization solutions. Microsoft hasn't fully disclosed the deal, but it is clear that Simplygon can fully support Microsoft's development in the 3D industry.

During Microsoft's event last October 2016, 3D had a huge part in their agenda along with the upcoming Windows 10 Creators Update. "With Simplygon's new acquisition, it can finally enable 3D for everyone," Microsoft said in an announcement.

It clearly implies that those technologies that were developed by Simplygon can make it to its products in the upcoming months and years, as stated by Develop Online. Microsoft shared that the expertise, talents, and technology of Simplygon will help the company to strengthen their 3D development project, making it easier for them to create, capture and share in 3D modes.

"Using Simplygon's 3D professionalism, it extends their aspirations to allow a new face of creativity with the Windows Creator Update, online creator community, and 3D painting," Microsoft further explained. Simplygon's leaders CEO Matt Connors and CTO Ulrik Lindahl and co-founder Koshi Hamedi will collaborate with Microsoft as part of the acquisition and will be directly involved in 3D content creation's developments.

As reported by TechCrunch, 3D content development is a fundamental role in Microsoft's future investments and 3D companies such as Simplygon will make the software giant achieve their vision. Microsoft's Windows Creator Update will be launched this coming April that will bring new Paint 3D applications that will help content creators to manage, make and access 3D project without the need of a third-party software.

"From the birth of the traditional company methods up to the adoption of Simplygon SDK by most leading AAA game development studios has made automatic 3D data-optimization increasingly more reachable to all developers," Simplygon CEO Matt Connors said. "Our next mission is 3D For Everyone, the ultimate accessibility! We are so excited to collaborate and share our visions with Microsoft to make impossible happen."
