The beta registration for "Injustice 2" was recently launched, allowing select players to test the game before its scheduled release in May 2017. Game developer NetherRealm Studios is currently offering registration forms to interested PlayStation 4 and Xbox One "Injustice 2" players.

Engadget wrote that NetherRealm Studios apparently listened to previous complaints about their unstable online multiplayer and decided to launch the beta test for "Injustice 2." Fighting game betas are not very common, compared to prerelease tests for shooter titles. The new "Injustice 2" beta version seems to focus on the online aspect of the game. NetherRealm may be looking for potential issues early on to ensure that players have a smooth and dynamic experience, with as few bugs as possible, upon launch.

GameSpot revealed that Ed Boon, head of NetherRealm Studios, also teased the beta version of "Injustice 2" before. Game publisher Warner Bros. also featured a story trailer, which confirmed that Darkseid will be part of the roster of playable characters. However, "Injustice 2" players have to preorder the game to play Darkseid upon launch. The game will also include several DC heroes like Deadshot, Batman, Harley Quinn, Superman, The Flash, Aquaman, Gorilla Grodd, Supergirl, Atrocitus, Wonder Woman and Blue Beetle. "Injustice 2" is also set to add various premium editions.

The story trailer of "Injustice 2" presented the rising conflict among the DC superheroes, where the roles of hero and villain have become blurred. Traditional teammates were featured battling each other, such as Batman versus Robin, and Wonder Woman versus Supergirl. It seems that the only way to resolve the problem is to battle each other until only one remains. The narrator stated that it may be time for them to be "redrawn."

Gamers who wish to try "Injustice 2" early can sign up for the beta version by going to the signup page. They will choose their preferred console. "Injustice 2" is set to launch on May 16, 2017 for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Pre-orders are also available online and at local game retailers. More updates and details are expected soon.
