‘Pokemon Go’ Gen 2 Update: Legendary Pokemon Arriving In March With Gender Options & Costume Choices!
Megha KediaNew reports suggest that the highly anticipated "Pokemon Go" Gen 2 update could be arriving very soon. Notably, the wildly popular game "Pokemon Go" topped almost all the gaming charts when it was released last year. But, the interest of gamers in the Pokemon game is dropping gradually. In order to gain back players interest into the game, Nintendo is soon going to roll out a new update which is expected to introduce a slew of new Pokemon characters.
According to Forbes, Nintendo might roll out the eagerly awaited "Pokemon Go" Gen 2 update on the first day of spring, March 21. As is the case with other leaks and rumors, this one should also be taken with a hefty pinch of salt as Niantic hasn't yet revealed anything about the upcoming update.
As reported by Gamespot, community site, The Silph Road, has uncovered some clues in the latest "Pokemon Go" patch that suggests that Niantic is gearing up for a big Gen 2 release. The patch data has revealed 38 new moves that have been added to the game. Notably, a large number of the newly discovered moves are specifically learned by Gen 2 Pokémon like Slash, Iron Tail and Hex and new charge-up moves like Mirror Coat, Crunch and Zap Cannon. In addition, new debugging options have been revealed in the mine including categories for Gender, Costume, Species, Form and Shiny.
If the report turns out to be true then we may expect "Pokemon Go" Gen 2 update to come with new gender options, costume choices as well as the long-awaited Shiny Pokémon. It should be noted that none of this content is currently available in the game. However, the same is expected to be rolled out in future.
