'Dark Souls 3' DLC 2 Update: New Gameplay Footage And Details To Arrive Next Week
Rei LantionIt's long been confirmed by Bandai Namco that "Dark Souls 3" will receive two DLCs. The first, "Ashes of Ariandel," was released October 25th last year.
As far as the second DLC is concerned, fans of the franchise have yet to hear of a viable release date or even a confirmed title. However, after months of minor updates and datamined information, fans may be getting more details and gameplay footage in the coming weeks.
According to Segment Next, Bandai Namco may be hosting a selective "Dark Souls 3" reveal event next week, where the studio will openly discuss the second DLC for Dark Souls 3. If reports are to be trusted and it looks like a lot of fans do, select guests have been invited such as popular YouTube users MrIwont4get and FightinCowboy, to try out the upcoming "Dark Souls 3" DLC 2 before publicly sharing the details.
The YouTubers themselves have confirmed their invite to said event, though details beyond that such as the date and event name-have yet to be revealed. iTech Post mentions that they did something similar for the Ashes of Ariandel DLC, inviting known 3 players to try out the new content before releasing it.
It's highly possible that these YouTubers will post gameplay and new footage to their channel following the event, although the report also mentions that they will be under some Non-Disclosure Agreement that may limit what they can reveal.
DLC 2 Rumor Round-Up. Earlier datamined leaks have speculated "City of the Dead" as a potential name for the upcoming DLC. From there, fan theories point to Londor as the game's main setting-a known location in "Dark Souls 3" that has yet to be fully fleshed out. It is also the hometown of two characters, Yoel and Yuria, which further suggest that these two may take center stage for DLC 2.
Further fan speculations suggest unlocked weapons such as the Ceremonial Sword used to stab Anri of Astora, the Darkdrift, or Sister Friede's Scythe. However, the datamined information for "Dark Souls 3" DLC 2 remains unconfirmed.
