'Pokemon Go' Update: Hit Game Starts Losing Players; Things That Could Be Added To Niantic's Augmented Reality Title
Ceage SottoDespite "Pokemon GO's" recent success and popularity, it's now slowly losing players. Although the company behind the hit game is throwing events, it's not enough to keep the game alive. There are certain things that the developers of the game must do aside from holiday-themed events.
According to a Forbes contributor, a lot of things should be addressed to avoid repetitive gameplay. It's not a secret that "Pokemon Go" got its success from merging the game through augmented reality. However, the game is becoming a total bore for many of its previous players. Most importantly, the mobile game lacks a definitive end game.
The game's pseudo endgame is by collecting all the Pokemon, other that the gameplay is a constant repeat. In his Forbes post, Paul Tassi details that there are three things that Niantic should implement. NPCs, A quest for legendaries and a better person versus person competition.
Tassi has expressed his desire for "Pokemon Go" to include NPC battles. It's a chunk of content that's missing in Pokemon's mobile version. Going head to head with members of Team Rocket or the Gym leaders of the Elite Four would bring a new element to the game.
Having an NPC to battle would be enough to keep players engaged while earning rewards like XP, Stardust, and candy outside of the current repetitive gameplay. At least players will have goof time engaging these characters.
Recently reports have surfaced that some legendary Pokemon will be making their presence felt for "Pokemon Go." Instead of spawning legendaries on specific areas, players should be involved in quests to add interaction and more gameplay from the game.
Since launching globally six months ago, "Pokemon GO" has never had a real PvP system. The game has been competitive since the series was first out for Nintendo's Game Boy.
"Pokemon GO's" battling system is so anemic and repetitive that it's never going to engage players for a long time. Adding complexity to the game system allows better player competition. Making a better PvP system will not only make training Pokemon's worthwhile, it also adds hours to the game.
