Xbox One Backwards Compatibility Update: Two New Xbox 360 Games Confirmed By Microsoft [VIDEO]
Pia MerciXbox's Larry Hryb has made an announcement on Twitter which confirms that console owners could now get the two new games, namely "Rocket Knight" and "Shadows Damned" for Xbox One Backwards Compatibility program. These games can either be installed directly from the disc or owners download it from their console's game library, this depends on how they purchase these titles.
Hyrb has teased that more details and news are set to be unveiled later within this week. So, a few more announcements about Xbox One Backwards Compatibility are expected in the coming days.
Note that Microsoft does not hold any set dates regarding BC announcement. However, the usual times for games get to be revealed are mostly Tuesdays and Thursdays.
"Shadows of the Damned" currently has over 2,000 votes on the official Microsoft most-requested site while "Rocket Knight" has less than 1,000. The tech giant has recently restated why some of the Xbox 360 games get launched ahead of the others, given that some have high votes in the voting league.
It is most likely due to when the original publishers will be comfortable with their games going live in the program wherein they still have the ultimate say in when things will happen, according to EXPRESS. The games like "Red Dead Redemption", "Bioshock trilogy", "Mass Effect trilogy", and "Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion" were added in 2016.
So far this year, Xbox owners have seen not less than 14 new backwards compatible titles. These include "Strania", "Dragon Age Origins", "Battlefield: Bad Company 2", "Battlefield 3", "The Splatters", "Ghostbusters", "Scrap Metal" as well as "Beat'n Groovy", "Mega Man 9" and "Mega Man 10".
Meanwhile, Mike Ybarra, Director of Program Management reportedly said that this year's new Microsoft console which is the Project Scorpio would likely include Backwards Compatibility feature. Apparently, there is still now word on the state of "Call of Duty Black Ops 2" Xbox One backwards compatibility which was earlier addressed by Phil Spencer in a recent Twitter Q&A with Xbox fans.
