Nens Mitchell

With the upcoming release of the Nintendo Switch, many are wondering how this will affect the PlayStation Vita. Some gaming fans have weighed in on how the two consoles will fair when they are compared.

Hybrid console

Geek reported that the Nintendo Switch could play a big role in the decision making of Playstation executives. This hybrid console from Nintendo is sure to change things in the gaming industry.

The Nintendo Switch functions not only as a portable gaming device but also a console for the home. Though it is still inferior in terms of visual and performance, the Nintendo Switch is projected to still sell millions of units come March 3, 2017.

It is then expected that the PlayStation Vita will also be revamped to improve Cross-Play titles and the use of the PlayStation console as a controller. These features were earlier introduced by Sony but did not seem to work.

Specs and features

According to Looper, the Nintendo Switch is similar to the Wii U because it has a docking station when a player want to enjoy games on the big screen. But its handheld capability is also a plus because it can be taken anywhere unlike the Wii console.

The ability to take the Nintendo Switch anywhere is a big advantage for Nintendo since the PlayStation has not introduced a similar console in the past. PlayStation plans on releasing a hybrid console but it may not come this 2017.

Price details

When it comes out this March, the Nintendo Switch could be sold for around $245. This price is a few dollars cheaper then the Wii U's initial price. The upcoming Nintendo offering is sure to compete with other consoles such as the PlayStation 4 and the Xbox One.

The Nintendo Switch promises to be a powerful and easy to carry console which gamers will love. Are you excited for the coming of the Nintendo Switch?
