"The Avengers Project" Video Game Will Have Original Story: Square Enix
Rommel"The Avengers Project" was teased with a very brief trailer which appears to infer that the Marvel Avengers universe had dispersed to different multiverses and into a chaotic state--with the necessity of reassembling them as the premise of the said game. To the surprise of various game and movie fans, Square Enix has announced earlier this week that their new Avengers game series will feature a completely original story.
While the trailer seems to suggest a lot (with the accompaniment of a mysterious voice over for more dramatic effect), it did not offer a lot of details about the Avengers game itself. A separate press release has provided enlightenment to fans on what exactly to expect from the game. It explains that The Avengers Project will feature a "complete original story" and, in the process, "introduce a universe gamers can play in for years to come."
It will also make it compatible with the movies and television series under the Marvel franchise in an effort to breath life into Marvel stories in such a way that the fans have never experienced before. This disclosure is a piece of good news to fans and gamers alike who initially feared that the Square Enix Avengers games will disappoint.
Fans were thus assured that The Avengers Project will definitely feature stories that are congruent with the more familiar storylines of the films and tv series under the Marvel belt. It was explained in the press release that the game "will be packed with all the characters, environments, and iconic moments that have thrilled longtime fans of the franchise."
While little is known of the games themselves, the press release has provided fans with a semblance of assurance of what they can offer by the time they are released to the public. Square Enix CEO Phil Rogers also assured fans that the company will craft "epic imaginative experiences" that allows gamers to "live out their Superhero dreams." This is to be achieved with the aid of Crystal Dynamics and Eidos Montreal, both of which are collaborators with Square Enix in the development of the said games.
Not only will the games offer a player fantasy experience, they will also offer a deeper and fresher narrative that dwarfs that of LEGO Marvel's Avengers and the upcoming fighting game Marvel vs. Capcom Infinite, a supervillain busting story that involves at least a member of The Avengers crew.
While some might say that it is a bit premature to expect much from the games, the signs that the game might actually deliver are very promising. Assuming that this might actually be the case, this is the first time that Square Enix Avengers would be the first time that current generation fans will be able to play a big budget Avengers title which features all the characters without the distinctive blocky and literally edgy looks that Lego has to offer or the animated quality that is reminiscent of Disney Infinity. Fingers are crossed for The Avengers Project.
