Nintendo NES Classic Edition Hack Shows How To Load Over 700 Games On The System [Walkthrough Video]

Hackers recently discovered a way to load hundreds of games on the Nintendo NES Classic Edition. The game console initially arrived with 30 preloaded games.

Nintendo Life reported that earlier in January 2017, the hackers found a means to double the initial game lineup of the Nintendo NES Classic Edition from 30 to 60. More players attempted to boost the functionality of the console and eventually found a hack that allows them to access over 700 games. This means that the full official library of the Nintendo NES Classic Edition may be loaded and enjoyed by all people everywhere.

The approach requires a PC and uses a different approach compared to the hack that was used to increase the 30 preloaded games on the Nintendo NES Classic Edition. The hack will require some technical knowledge and a lot of time. It also involves some risks, including potential damage to the Nintendo NES Classic Edition. Accessing the full library of games will require tampering with ROMs, which Nintendo discourages, so any damage that results to the game system will most likely void its warranty.

Cinema Blend stated that YouTuber TootyUK shared how he successfully loaded hundreds of games on his Nintendo NES Classic Edition. In the video, TootyUK used Hakchi 2.11, which allowed him to use full ROM zip files from all parts of the Nintendo NES Classic Edition. He explained how to patch various games into the console, which required a lot of kennel dumping, loading, editing and selections. The whole setup took about 20 minutes, but the average user may take longer to load all the games.

Based on the video, Nintendo NES Classic Edition players can choose which games they wish to load. It may take longer to load the complete library. After TootyUK successfully patched the games, he browsed through the library, which presented cover images of the different game titles on the Nintendo NES Classic Edition. He also tested a couple of games to prove that these actually work on the console.

The new Nintendo NES Classic Edition hack is available to players who wish to take the risk. More updates and details are expected soon.
