Bungie confirmed that it is preparing for the release of new update for "Destiny" on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. The game developer stated that it will arrive in the middle of February and avid gamers predicted that it could be something bigger than expected.

On Jan. 26, Bungie announced about the update via the company's official website. The team relayed that this will be called the "Destiny" HotFix 2.5.0.2. As usual, it will fix lingering issues encountered by players and bring improvements to the game's sandbox as well.

Since they are not able to say the exact release date of the update, Bungie explained that this is because the whole process of launching an update is long and not any easy task. With all the steps to follow, from development to certification, it surely takes time to complete everything.

Delay is possible too, should they encounter problems along the way. But nevertheless, the game company assured fans that the "Destiny" HotFix 2.5.0.2 is definitely coming soon.

What to Expect

The 2.5.0.2 "Destiny" update only offers hot fixes but there are a lot to expect from it according to senior game designer Josh Hamrick. "The main goal of 2.5.0.2 is to adjust all sorts of attacks and counter attacks in the Crucible," he said in the post on the website.

He added that the Sandbox and Crucible designers are looking into and updating the the competitive system and the team is close to perfecting this. "Through experimentation and near daily battles to the death, we have begun to home in on a set of changes that we believe freshens things up," Hamrick stated.

"Destiny 2" Release Date

GameSpot reported that Bungie already confirmed the 2017 release date for "Destiny 2" or whatever the new game sequel will be called. However, fans should not expect fresh news about the game since its development is still ongoing.

All that the Bungie and Activision team can say right now is that they are on the right track and excited for the release of the "Destiny" sequel in 2017. This is because, they can see that the game is going to be something awesome.
