Apple Watch Series 3 Coming With Smart Links Still ‘Square-ish’ Or New Round Face? [VIDEO]
Pia MerciApple is always on the prowl for more ways of adding appeal to its gadgets which has been a lot of talk recently as reportedly, Apple plans to cram as many forward thinking features into its next timepiece. According to reports, the upcoming Apple Watch Series 3 may possibly soon get a face lift and a new face ship with integration of smart links.
Indeed, Apple is still the king of the smartwatch segment despite the increase of industry rivals. However, apparently, the demand for a more conventional-looking wrist gadget can no longer be disregarded. 2017 could possibly see Tim Cook, the CEO of Apple, and his company rolls out a circular smartwatch.
More so, when the New Yorker asked Jony Ive, Apple's head of design, whether Apple plans to launch a round wrist piece last year and the design chief said that it just didn't seem to be appropriate for such a device. He adds that when a huge part of the function is lists, a circle just doesn't make any sense.
Despite the loud demands for a more normal appearance, the square design has been still seen in the second generation Watch. While the existing range of Apple Watches comes with square-ish faces, popular competitors like the Huawei Watch, Moto 360 from Motorola and the Samsung Gear 2 come with circular designs. Apparently, their conventional looks make them much more approachable.
However, it seems that Apple apparently plans to launch a round Watch sometime in the near feature as they have filed for a round watch patent last June 2015. The report claims that the company is interested in adding an array of pixel columns and rows with each varying in length which will reportedly save space and reduce crowding.
Meanwhile, according to other reports Apple is apparently adding multiple functions to its Watch's links which was recently discovered with a patent that they filed showing the system of accessories in watch joints form. Take for example links for battery power, connectivity, cameras and so on, which all would make up the watch's metal band.
More importantly, all of this is mere speculation but it is certain that the Apple Watch Series 3 is expected to launch this fall alongside the revolutionary iPhone 8.
