Nintendo has confirmed that the 3DS-exclusive Japanese role-playing game "Yo-kai Watch 2" is finally coming to Europe on April 7. The game was first rolled out to Japan in July 2016 before its release in North America in September 2016 and Nintendo said that the original "Yo-kai Watch" was quickly sold in Europe that it did in Japan.

GameSpot reports that the sequel is being divided into two versions - the "Yo-kai Watch 2: Bony Spirits" and the "Yo-kai Watch 2: Fleshy Souls" and each of the version features five exclusive Yo-kai creatures that players can exchange locally or online. Although it took a longer time to make it to Europe, it has finally been nailed down as Europe has been highlighted by Nintendo during the company's recent earnings conference as a successful territory for the franchise.

Nintendo Life gave the game a recommendation in its review although some areas of the game were ‘under-delivered'. Nevertheless, it's an IP that maintains its good sales performance since its first year in Japan and its impressive stats could be one of the reasons that Nintendo is encouraged to bring the game to Europe.

Alexa Ray Corriea commented in GameSpot's review of "Yo-kai Watch 2" and said that the game ‘feels old hat' although they had fun with the original "Yo-kai Watch." They also thought that the sequel wasn't impressive enough to progress the series.

The game has been compared to Pokemon more often for its critter-collecting elements and the two versions' trading functionality. "Pokemon Sun and Moon" on the other hand, was released in November 2016 receiving critical acclaim and the pair broke records worldwide and is reported to get a third version for the upcoming Nintendo Switch.

"Yo-kai Watch 2" was developed by Level-5 and published by Nintendo exclusively for the Nintendo 3DS. The games then became one of the most highly anticipated releases in 2014 in Japan and two of the best-selling titles on the 3DS.

Anyone in Europe plans to get "Yo-kai Watch 2" soon? Let us know in the comments below!
