'Final Fantasy 15' Delays Release of DLC Costumes Due to Power Rangers Similarities
Staff Reporter"Final Fantasy 15" Magitek Exosuit DLC's release has been suspended because of its similarities with the 'Power Ranger' iconic armors. Fans were shocked over the recent announcement that Square Enix has canceled the scheduled release of "Final Fantasy 15" booster pack DLC which was set for release supposedly within the month.
Fans have been expecting that they would be able to wear the game's costumes, the colorful "Magitek Exosuits", by its scheduled release on February 21. However, as mentioned, Square Enix has canceled its release much to the disappointment of excited fans and gamers.
The suspension of the release of the "Final Fantasy 15" Magitek Exosuits DLC to the public came due to the supposed resemblance of its design with that of the 'Power Rangers' franchise. Such similarities prompted Square Enix to ditch the scheduled release of the said costume. In their latest livestream via their website, Square Enix announced that the similarities between the costumes were pointed out by the publisher of the 'Power Rangers' franchise and that they are reconsidering the design of the "Magitek Exosuits". The company also announced that it would be releasing the redesigned and refurbished "Magitek Exosuits" to the public at a later date which is set to be announced soon.
According to Square Enix Marketing Manager Akio Ofuji, the company would endeavor to redesign the exosuits and release them to the public one the new design is finished. Hajime Tabata, "Final Fantasy 15" Director, was quoted in saying (as translated by Kotaku): "They don't look exactly the same, and as for the copyright, even if these are our original designs, it seems like they will cause problems for others."
Despite the costume gaffe, what is certain is that the DLC will still be released to the public later on. The refurbished and redesigned costume has heightened the excitement and suspicion of fans over its new appearance. Fans speculated that the redesigned "Magitek Exosuits" is set not only to change the aesthetics of the Final Fantasy team but will also make them much more invincible for thirty (30) minutes prior to the necessity to recharge for twenty-four (24) hours. With this, the said suits will definitely improve fans' abilities in relation to their fishing activities.
Aside from the reimagination of the "Magitek Exosuits", fans of the "Final Fantasy 15" franchise have another reason to be excited as Square Enix has revealed that within the following month, the thirteenth (13th) chapter of the said game is set to be released, thus redeeming the isolation that it made fans feel in contrast to the rest of the title.
In addition, gamers who are not owners of consoles yet have also some reasons to celebrate. Taba has announced that he is in favor of releasing a port that is compatible with PC. He has hinted that he will express his full support to have a hand in the experience--to the delight of the gamers and fans alike.
"Final Fantasy 15" is currently available for PS4 and Xbox One. While the release is of "Magitek Exosuit" DLC remains a mystery as of now, it will, nevertheless, come out for the public's consumption soon.
