Apple iOS 10.3 Beta 1 Packs Hidden Features [VIDEO]; See Details
Vinay PatelApple recently rolled out iOS 10.3 beta 1 which is deemed as the first release edition of the Cupertino-based tech firm's next major iOS release since it packs an array of new features. But it looks like there are a few features Apple refrained from making public in its official release notes.
iOS 10.3 Hidden Features - Integrated Calling
In the settings of iOS 10.3, Apple has kept a feature that allows Verizon customers to make WiFi calls without using their iPhones under wraps. Discovered by MacRumors, this feature can be activated by going to Settings > Phone > Calls on Other Devices option and toggling it on. This brings up a list of all the devices that the user can connect and then toggle them on or off separately.
With the aforesaid feature, iPhone users can make and receive Wi-Fi calls on a slew of iCloud-connected devices such as Apple Watch, iPod touch, the iPad and most Mac computers (2012 or later). This feature still works if the iPhone is not switched on or even when it is on a different Wi-Fi network as long as the devices are signed in to the same Apple ID that is used on the iPhone.
This feature that allows Verizon customers running Apple's iOS 10.3 beta to make integrated calls has put them in parity with iPhone owners on other carriers including Sprint, T-Mobile, and AT&T who have access to this option for quite some time.
It's worth noting that the Integrated Calling or Calls on Other Devices feature may not be live yet for some Verizon customers running iOS 10.3 beta, but it is expected to be ready in time for the final version.
iOS 10.3 Hidden Features - A Floating Keyboard
Meanwhile, one user has discovered another feature buried in the setting of iOS 10.3, which, according to International Business Times was scheduled to be unveiled during WDC (Worldwide Developers Conference) 2017.
Developer Steven Troughton-Smith has discovered a floating keyboard for iPad in the latest update. Smith claims that the recently discovered feature is compatible with all Apple iPads, except the largest 12.9-inch model.
