Apple Siri & iPhone 8 Update: Steps Apple Must Take To Beat Google Assistant & Amazon Alexa
Ritwik RoyFresh reports have claimed that Apple is focusing a lot on its personal virtual assistant Siri and it could be a big feature in the Apple iPhone 8, apart from the much-publicized OLED curved display. However, it remains to be seen how Apple Siri fares against the likes of Google Assistant, Amazon Alexa and also Samsung's new Bixby assistant. Siri is set to become way more competitive than ever in the artificial intelligence (AI) space. Currently, it is lagging behind Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa.
According to Tech Times, Apple Siri could soon be biting the dust if the Cupertino-based tech giant does not incorporate major upgrades to its personal digital assistant with Apple iPhone 8. Google Assistant and Alexa are already being included in various smartphones and other devices. LG G6 is set to become the first non-Pixel phone to be incorporating the Google Assistant. Apple has already included the option to share user' iCloud data in the iOS 10.3 beta testing release notes. This can significantly improve Siri.
According to a January report on Forbes, there are certain steps Apple must take to make Siri significantly better with iPhone 8. One is to make Siri have the capability to adjust the settings of a phone through voice commands. This will allow users to be more interactive with their iPhones and other Apple devices as they would be able to change notifications settings or adjust the brightness via voice commands. Apple should also consider extending Siri's support for third-party apps and other non-Apple software.
Moreover, Apple users should also be allowed to order items without the need to subscribe to a service. This is not the case with, let's say, Amazon Alexa, as users have to subscribe to Amazon Prime to purchase items on with Alexa's help. Stay tuned on Mobile & Apps for more updates on Apple iPhone 8 and Siri virtual assistant.
