Google-owned Motorola was supposed to be one of the first smartphones to get the Android 7.0 Nougat update. Fans have been eagerly waiting for the Nougat update on unlocked Moto Z smartphones, since the time the update was rolled out for the Verizon models Moto Z Droid and Moto Z Droid Force in November. Motorola earlier said that the update will not be out before February.

Now, fans are looking forward to the Nougat update in unlocked Moto Z devices which is already out.

Motorola Releases The Update In Small Chunks

In the month of January, Motorola told Android Central that Moto Z smartphones would not be getting the Android 7.0 Nougat update not anytime earlier than February 2017. The Verizon edition of the update was released before two months. However, there is no official acknowledgement from Motorola USA regarding the roll out. The update was rolled out in smaller chunks so that they can minimise issues following the update release, as reported by Android Central.

Moto Z Play Will Get The Nougat Update In March

Following this, a number of users have reported that their unlocked Moto Z smartphones have received the Android 7.0 Nougat update. Also, Motorola has said that they would start to push the Android 7.0 Nougat update to the Moto Z Play smartphones during the month of March, as reported by Indian Express.

Motorola Is Falling Behind In Releasing The Update

While other OEMs have started pushing out the Android 7.0 Nougat update since November, Motorola is falling behind other competitors in getting the Android 7.0 Nougat update to its devices. Considering that the company is owned by Google, users expect more updates. On the other hand, Google is issuing the Android 7.0 Nougat OS update to the smartphones across the globe. It looks like fans have to wait for some more time to enjoy the Nougat update.
