Google Pixel’s February Security Patch Fixes Audio Issues For Most Users; For Some, Not So Much
Cris Xander JulianoGoogle has recently rolled out a security patch for the month of February for Google Pixel and Nexus smartphones. The update addressed a few of the critical vulnerabilities of the devices and more importantly, it fixes the audio problems that Google Pixel users have been complaining about according to Android Authority.
A month ago, a Reddit user named "badmark," stated that there is an audio problem with Pixel devices. He claimed that his own Pixel smartphone produce distorted static noises when the highest level of volume is being used which made it very inconvenient to enjoy media on the device. He had his smartphone replaced three times but all units suffer the same issues, including his wife's Pixel device.
The February security patch is now being pushed to Pixel devices worldwide and fixes the audio problems according to some Reddit users.
However, Phone Arena shared that not all Pixel users who received the security patch had their audio problems fixed and claimed that the distortion is still present. Perhaps the fix is not yet official as it is not mentioned in the patch's changelog which is unusual considering the level of the problem.
Google did acknowledge the audio problems and stated that they are working on a solution. Also, a support agent claims that the problem is caused by a hardware-related issue that is only present in a handful of devices, although this is uncertain.
It is not known how exactly this patch worked on some devices. Hopefully, the next developer preview should entirely fix all the issue on Google's Pixel devices.
Is your Google Pixel device affected by the problem? Did the February patch fixed the issue? Write and share your thoughts on the comments section down below.
