‘Criminal Minds’ Season 12: Last Nine Episodes Dive Deeper Into Huge, Heartbreaking Spencer Reid Arc; Here’s What We Know
Kate Wales"Criminal Minds" Season 12 just dropped a huge bombshell when Spencer Reid was arrested for illegal drugs possession. Fans of the beloved BAU genius might see more heartbreaking scenes and deeper stories involving Reid and his ongoing case in the last nine episodes of this season.
Showrunner Erica Messer talked to TV Guide and confirmed that the back nine episodes of "Criminal Minds" Season 12 will be focused on Reid's mess. However, he will not be eligible for an FBI assistance, thanks to Agent Emily Prentiss who will ask defense attorney Fiona Duncan to help the youngest BAU member.
The upcoming episodes will not be easy for everyone even if Prentiss and the rest of the BAU team are on Reid's side, though. This is because his plea over the accusations against him will make an impact on his charges.
As pointed out by Movie News Guide, Reid will deny the claims but his lawyer might doubt his honesty. With pieces of evidence turning out to be against him, it will get scarier and harder for the BAU unit to get him out of jail.
Reid has no clear memory of what exactly happened but he knows he cannot do such a thing so he is expected to be in a serious dilemma in the next episodes. As an FBI agent, he knows that it's not okay to admit to something he didn't do but he is also aware that pleading guilty could lighten his sentence.
It remains to be seen how he will play his cards but fans should expect to see his case run until Episode 21 to 22 of "Criminal Minds" Season 12. It will be a long and worrisome journey for fans as Messer revealed that the show might see a two-parter finale with a focus on this big and heartbreaking Reid arc.
Criminal Minds Season 12 is airing every Wednesday nights on CBS at 9/8c. Keep checking here at MobilenApps to get more updates about the new episodes.
