‘Final Fantasy 14’ Can Come To The Nintendo Switch Version; Square Enix Announces PS4 Pro Patch & More
CJ EstimadaSquare Enix has already projected one massive multi-player online role-playing game for Nintendo Switch -- the "Dragon Quest (Japan only.) In the recent fan festival in Frankfurt, the developer confirmed that it discussed the possibility of a Nintendo Switch version. It also made announcements about "Final Fantasy XIV" and its "Stormblood" expansion. Producer Naoki Yoshida further confirmed a PS4 Pro patch.
Nintendo Switch Platform And Square Enix
In The Sixth Axis' report, Yoshida stated that he would like to see the console port make its way to the Nintendo Switch, on one condition -- that it would be shared server across platforms. To bring "Final Fantasy XIV" to as many platforms as possible is the team's key objectiv, with the main limitation that it categorically doesn't want to create a boxed off version that can't interact with others.
Notwithstanding having a glum first year, which resulted in a total re-development and re-launch, "Final Fantasy XIV" has gone on to become one of the most widely known MMORPGs. This is possibly due, in part, to its well-received console ports for PS3 and PS4, which have handy and clever control options.
The PS4 Pro Patch
"Rather than using the PS4 Pro's power to adapt to say 4k display, we're thinking of using it for game performance," Yoshida explained. "We've begun work on a Pro patch and hope to have details soon." "Final Fantasy XIV" will make use of the console's extra horse power to enhance performance, shares GameSpot.
While Nintendo's version for the Switch is still uncertain, the notion that a game like "Final Fantasy XIV" could come to the handheld/home console hybrid would be a dream come true for fans. The Switch launches on March 3. Stay tuned for more news on the launch titles and every confirmed game, and "Final Fantasy XIV," if Square Enix decides to push forward with a port. For now, PC and PS4 owners can gamely wait on the June 30th release of the next expansion, "Stormblood."
