‘Pokémon GO’ Guide: Which Pokémon Candy Should You Save For Next Gen Updates?

Now that the generation update is live, it pays to be prepared when playing "Pokémon GO." With the recent launch of the Gen 2 Update, Trainers who saved some Pokémon Candy for monsters with Gen 2 Evolutions had an instant edge compared to players who didn't. This is why it is rather important to gather Candy for pocket monsters that have Evolutions on the next batch of Pokémon.

Luckily, a Reddit user named thepearloather created a guide for Trainers who will go hunting now that the "Pokémon GO" Gen 2 update has arrived. The Redditor took the time to group the monsters according to the generation they come from, and whether the upcoming monster to join their group is a de-evolved form.

On the list, most of the Evolutions for Gen 1 and Gen 2 Pokémon will come with the Gen 4 Update and not the expected Gen 3 update. Other Reddit users who have discovered the new guide were mighty pleased with it, with one saying, "Uprooted and saved for reference. As someone who was never SUPER into Pokémon and has only been learning which Pokémon evolve into what as I come across them, this is super helpful." User AnimeLord1016 commented: "This is awesome! Thanks for this, it will definitely come in handy."

However, not all find Pokémon Candy extremely important, with some Redditors pointing out that there's no real reason to gather for the de-evolutions since players won't have to power them up unless it's an amazing one. Another "Pokémon GO" trainer also doubted whether Candy will be used to get baby Pokémon in the future.

Nevertheless, it doesn't hurt to collect Pokémon Candy, does it? Head over to thepearloather's post on Reddit to view the guide and know which Candy to stock. No word is out yet on when "Pokémon GO's" Gen 3 and Gen 4 will be rolled out, but presumably it will take more than a year, considering it took Niantic seven months to release Gen 2.
