'Nioh' PvP Update To Add 10 Missions; ‘Dragon of the North’ DLC Scheduled For Late April With New Weapons, Characters & More
Arianne Gift"Nioh" may only be a couple of weeks old, but Koei Tecmo is hell-bent on giving players more reasons to play, as brand new challenges will arrive come late March. Announced during a Japanese live stream, the game's first update will add high-difficulty missions.
According to Gematsu's translation, "Nioh's" first update will include 10 levels of difficulty missions that will feel like boss-rush battles. A free PvP mode is also slated for April and the 'Dragon of the North' story DLC that will take players deep into Japan's tumultuous Northern provinces. According to Koei Tecmo, the DLC will include new weapon types, characters, scenarios, yokai, guardian spirits and stages.
"Nioh's" 'Dragon of the North' DLC is included in the Season Pass, priced at $24.99. This will also give players access to the forthcoming Defiant Honor ('fight in the bloody Winter Campaign of the Siege of Osaka') and Bloodshed's End ('bring the Siege of Osaka to an end during the Summer Campaign') expansions.
Team Ninja's RPG has already received amazing reviews for its story and difficulty, as well as "Nioh's" impressive inventory and management systems. When the PvP system goes live, it is going to test even the best of players. The only true way of knowing if a player has become the best is to throw their best creation into the fire along with other players.
Koei Tecmo also announced that it is extending the period that users can get the free Armor of Japan's Best Warrior costume in Japan from Feb. 22 to March 1. The announcement follows the team's apology for shortages of "Nioh" in Japan.
Sony Interactive Entertainment and Team Ninja haven't announced the Western release dates for the updates and DLC yet, although updates are to be expected in the coming weeks. "Nioh" is out now for the PlayStation 4. Watch the live stream archive below.
