'The Elder Scrolls 6' & 'Fallout 5' To Possibly Release; 2 Classically Bethesda Games Confirmed In The Works
Keisuke Akio"The Elder Scrolls 6" and "Fallout 5" are probably in the works at Bethesda right now. A recent update from the studio has revealed seven projects in the pipeline.
During a recent interview with Glixel, Todd Howard, Bethesda Game Studios' executive producer, revealed that three big games are being made. Two of these are classically Bethesda, while the third game is a brand new mobile title.
Howard said that since it is a bigger company now, Bethesda wants to put out more stuff. According to him, the two titles, which are of the classic Bethesda scale, are being worked on simultaneously, although the process is staggered.
He added that he cannot discuss the two games but said that they are bigger than anything Bethesda has ever done. Further, he noted that these games are a bit different, but definitely in the wheelhouse that people are used to from the studio. That means they are most likely to be games about post-apocalyptic science fiction and fantasy with large maps, greater ambitions and a solid emphasis on role playing.
"Skyrim" was released in 2011 and it would be normal to assume that the next "Elder Scrolls" installment is one of these two big titles. It can be recalled that in August 2016, Bethesda told Gamespot that although "Elder Scrolls VI" was coming, it was not in development and would not be coming anytime soon. Aside from that, Howard disclosed that "Skyrim" and "Fallout 4" still have millions of daily players. Clearly, these games are not franchises that need the revival from a sequel.
Meanwhile, from the recent interview, Howard revealed that Bethesda projects include "Skyrim" on Nintendo Switch and "Fallout 4" VR. In addition, the studio is working on a major project and a mobile game.
