"Outlast 2" has been confirmed to be of the most awaited horror games to date. While there may be trailers that show what can be expected from it, there are also some details that may have been left untouched, making the game still confusing at some points.

According to the Red Barrels Games site, "Outlast 2" may be more connected to the first title than people think. Even if the game shows a different plot, it is said that the universe where it takes place is considerably the same. An explanation shows how a sinister employee of the Murkoff coordination was forwarded some direction, which implies the village from "Outlast 2."

Moreover, a logo of an upside-down cross was seen from the comic strip, showing a man and a pregnant woman walking towards it. The official "Outlast 2" page says that the story will follow the creepy adventures of an investigative journalist looking to see what went behind a somewhat impossible murder of a pregnant woman, only known as Jane Doe. As the image shows, the woman is such and could be walking towards her own death.

With the apparent direction of the story, it was disclosed by Game Revolution that "Outlast 2" will show how the sickness started, as well as where it all began. This also points toward the events that occured at Mount Massive Asylum, where the horrid, bloody mess all took place.

"Outlast 2" is a first-person surivival-horror game developed by Red Barrels Games. It will be made for the PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, It will take players on a dangerous series of running, hiding and puzzle solving. While the game may be VR headset-compatible, it will not be released immediately as such. The company has yet to announce when its VR version will come out.
