'Pokemon GO' Gen 2 Update: Special Items, Capturing Togetic & App Performance!

Catherine G.

"Pokemon GO" has benefitted really well from the Gen 2 update in the game. The update has been in limelight across all forums and news. "Pokemon GO" has become a chart topper again!

With the "Pokemon GO" Gen 2 update, over 80 new Pokemon species have been added to the game. However, catching them is not child's play. Players now need to collect special items i.e. evolutionary items. These can only be obtained by visiting PokeStops. Below is a list of some "Pokemon GO" Special evolutionary items:

a. Dragon Scale can be used to evolve a Seadra to a Kingdra- one also needs to use a hundred Horsea candies.

b. King's Rock turns Poliwhirl into a Politoed using 100 Poliwag candies. It also turns Slowpoke into Slowking using 50 of these candies.

c. An Onix can evolve into Steelix using 50 candies- resulting in a giant metal coat. It also turns Scyther to Scizor.

d. The Sun Stone transforms grass Pokemon. For instance, Gloom turns into Bellossom using 100 Oddish candies.

Some other candies to smoothen the Gen 2 crossover in "Pokemon GO" are the Eevee candies used for evolving Eevee into Umbreon and Espeon. Another amazing development in "Pokemon GO" Gen 2 update is that Togetic is now relatively easier to catch. "Pokemon GO" players previously struggled with 1% capture rate but can now rejoice over the increased catch rate of 5%!

Using Berries and Ultra Balls can also help in catching Togetic, even with the high escape rate. Needless to say, such updates have helped "Pokemon GO" in reclaiming the number 1 position in the Apple App Store and gaining a respectable number 3 across Play Store.
